Ahhhh.....the suspense is building as it was when all the networks kept breaking in when Geraldo was on the scene when they were breaching the wall that led into Al Capone's Secret Vault. Remember that one?
I mean yeah there's obviously a production going on because they have to make a TV show. No one wants to sit there and watch Gary scan a beach all day, we want to see the moment he makes a find, for example. Those kinds of things are to be expected and go without saying, frankly. But the rest is pretty legit in my opinion. I've been in contact with one of the crew personally for a while now. These guys aren't doing this just to bullsh*t everyone. They're actually going for this. I'd say they all deserve quite a bit of respect for what they've been able to achieve so far. The Oak Island legend has much more merit than a lot of other treasure legends out there. You're reactions don't surprise me though... most people live in a state of utter negativity/skepticism about anything that happens outside of their small bubble of perceived reality. This of course is why 99% of us are scrapping the bottom while the top 1% live like kings. Just the way of the world I guess.
But in terms of treasure hunting, these guys are already waaay above the level of most treasure hunters on here whether they find the vault or not. My hats off to them.
With all the man made caves/tunnels down there along with some naturally made ones there is no way to detect what is what with a sonar I don't think. The few times they have dropped some kind of sonar down a hole the info it send backs can't be replicated by a diver..
I agree , if they had just waited an episode or two before springing the 1200 to 1600 lead cross(Gary said so ,so its gospel) then it might have been a little easier to take .....Way above? Not sure how that is possible with them finding previously "planted" items in an attempt to justify their fluff filling episodes visiting far off places....far too convenient. This show is right there with the Mystery of the Superstition Mountains debacle that was short lived.
This is starting to get out of hand ... let's just put it this way.. your opinions are your own .. when you started this thread I just thought you were optimistic and enthusiastic. Then you mentioned being in contact with some one on the show .. .. my wariness meter began buzzing . More power to the brothers that are so blessed to have the wealth to chase a childhood dream. BUT So far, they are just treasure hunters like the rest of us. Hopefully they will be treasure finders...A major aspect of being a successful treasure hunter is the ability to gather the funds necessary to do anything more than scan a beach for bottle caps. When you add what they've been able to experience using their funds (operating some of the most powerful equipment on earth, traveling to historical sites all over the world looking for clues, not to mention OWNING AN ISLAND THAT HAPPENS TO BE A TREASURE TROVE) that together with the historical discoveries they've already made in their pursuit for this treasure... One is forced to humble himself for once in his life and accept the reality that these guys have already achieved way more than most treasure hunters will in their lifetime.

Do I really have to go through the list with you?
