The longevity of earthworms

Earthworms do well ,undisturbed, in their own environment .
Impaled on a fish hook by an adult they can expire from prolonged immersion in water .
Given the same treatment ,however , by a grandchild ; they will surely die from dehydration .

Then you can understand my chagrin after plowing 2 acres in a long day with a pair of horses and a single bottom turn plow and seeing , first hand , all the havoc I created amongst worms , moles , and voles .

Yes, that had to of been a sad day for those created beings... good thing those all those critters multiply like no one's business!!
