The Musical Woods & Victorian piece

After work today I headed back for my second hunt around the 1800's stone chimney I detected last Saturday. No coins today, but lots of relics. I think this new spot is going to be very productive and I just gained access to a LOT more land around it.
I know CW Union troops went through close to this area and the old stagecoach road passes through this property also. Hopefully I'll eventually start finding some CW relics. :dontknow: Lots to cover!
Last Saturday I dug four harmonica reeds, and today another five. They were all fairly close together (within a 10' radius).
I have no idea why so many? :icon_scratch:
The highlight of my hunt was this Victorian era piece with a lady on it and an old locket (?). There is still cloth attached to the Victorian piece. Any idea what it was?
Although only a portion, I thought the lavender colored glass from an old oil lamp was a pretty neat find too.
One tick yesterday (80 degrees), but none today (60 degrees).
Thanks for looking.

Great finds Doug. I still feel you will be posting a banner from there soon. The lady looks to be from a 1800's Ladies Sash/suspender buckle clip. I love finding those. Great finds buddy

Thanks for the ID Mike.
Just so I have this clear. You like finding ladies from the 1800's, or sash buckles? :icon_scratch: :laughing9:
Come on down Brotha!

Oh yeah Doug, I like those 100 plus year old gals you know? :D

Re: The Musical Woods & Victorian piece

MM, you know there's got to be some coins at that spot.
Nice relics.

Re: The Musical Woods & Victorian piece

Looks like a cape buckle or a sash buckle. I dug a lot of harmonica reeds close to where I found my CSA buckle. Could this be an Omen? Great finds

Great looking finds there Doug! :o The oil lamp reservoir you found was made by Riverside Glass. The Riverside Glass Works opened on September 17, 1879 in Wellsburg, West Virginia. They were best known for their tableware and the famous "clinched-on-collar" oil lamps.

HH,
Dave

This piece is the bottom portion of an oil lamp font :icon_thumright:.
Here's what it would look like if it was complete.

Nice Finds MM. I think you have a great site to hunt there. Maybe those reeds are from that Hillbilly Band you played in-LOL. Q.

Re: The Musical Woods & Victorian piece

Great relics Dug , I agree with the posts that speculate some seated silver or a CW buckle should be nearby , your digging enough targets to get something soon :icon_thumleft: A lot of harp reeds , ever wonder why these reeds show up with oil lamp parts :icon_scratch: :dontknow: or did Quindy get it right :D

Re: The Musical Woods & Victorian piece

You're on to me Q. Me and the boys used to put out some great tunes out in those woods. I'll miss ol' Jeb, Jethro, and Stinky. :tongue3:

Thanks Dawg.
I dug some big iron out there too so hopefully once I get through some of that siver may show up.
There's an old cellar hole close to the chimney, and I think I can make out where the old privy used to be.
Don't listen to Quindy, he's just old and losing his mind. :tongue3: :laughing9:

Re: The Musical Woods & Victorian piece

I'd say after you pound this house site real well and start moving out into the fields and woods, eventually you'll happen upon a camp.. Old stagecoach road :sign13: lots and lots of scouting!
