Her are the pics I promised of my coins and ring. The ring pic did not turn out too good, sorry. Any ideas on how to clean all these coins???? Do I need to soak them in water for a long, long time or is there another trick?

I usually take all my clad every 6 months that I throw in a bucket and throw it in a big spagetti strainer with some dawn and just smoosh it around. My pennies go into the coinstar and everything else goes in the big water bottle for my corvette fund. ;)

WOW I would say a rock tumbler with crushed almond shells.

Separate the pennies out and put the Q,N and Dimes into a plastic bottle. (Gatorade bottles work great). Then fill the bottle with vinegar to just above the coins. Add a tablespoon of salt and SHAKE! Let it soak for a while and SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE!

Repeat the process until the coins are cleaned to your satisfaction. You can do the same thing with the pennies (separately).

A rock tumbler works well with salt and vinegar too.

Congrats on the ring!

Nice pic's, don't know what to tell you on the ring, I think you just a little to close. Ridley is right on on how to clean up the coins, just make sure you have all the pennies out before you clean the other coins or you'll end up with quartes, nickels and dimes that will look like HECK.....HH

any certain type of vinegar? i got a pile that needs cleaned. thanks

Coinstar is great, but around here it charges 8.9%. I take mine to my bank's machine, which is free to customers.
