Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
It has been raining just about every day for a couple of weeks and I haven't been able to do much detecting. Today there was a break in the weather and I headed out to do some detecting. On my first dig, I felt the pain in my legs but after I loosen up and started finding good targets the pain went away.

I started out beeping and digging with my new Vista X to see what it could do. I'm really impressed with it, but I decided to switch over to my newly acquired Kruzer when I got worried that the batteries in the Vista X were getting low. I should have recharged them, I just assumed that they had enough juice.

As soon as I switched detectors I got a loud funky bouncing signal with the Kruzer that was in the nickel and pull tab range and I wanted to see what it was. Out pops a 19.7-gram 10k gold class ring (melt value $400). Hopefully, I can find the owner.

I found some other good stuff as well. A bunch of clad coins, 9 wheat pennies, a sterling silver ring, a silver quarter, a War nickel and a Rosie dime. The weather was just perfect and I can't wait to head back out with a FULLY CHARGED Vista X. That sucker is really fun to use. I set the discrimination where it will discriminate out nails and small foil but not high enough to discriminate out a tiny dime size 0.98 14k gold ring. I'm liking this beeping and digging!

That's a chunky ring and a bunch of other nice finds to go with your gold. Nice digging!

Great day you had congrats!
Don't you love it when you pop a coin and can see the imprint from the coin so clearly in the dirt? I love that! Good luck with the return.

I'm hoping to get some of your luck. Not detecting, but just having a day without rain. It's supposed to rain again here today. All I have to hunt is mud. Ponds in the fields everywhere. Gary
