Big government telling you what to do? Er?
Last time I checked....people down the road shooting guns sounds like war...
It just might be the time for you to gear up Junkshopfiddler. In time of need the only person, persons, you can usually depend on is yourself
It's a great rant! Makes no sense at all, that's what a rant should be. Prayer out of public places? Where? When? Been to a baseball game lately? Looked at our currency lately? In God We Trust? God out of the schoolroom? What do you want, sharia law? Tearing out Constitution down? You mean the Patriot Act? America was on the ropes for many decades until the 50s because we flattened the competition, then said competition bounced back. I'm not so sure about Indians getting along and the animals loving one another though...
I've been to High School games lately, students were suspended for praying, and sent home for wearing Jesus tee shirts. Students in some states are suspended for bringing their Bible to school while at the same time being forced to study a class on the Quran and fast for Ramadan, (meatless lunch menus), seems like Sharia law is already here. As for the patriot act the Constitution gives certain rights to the President in times of war or invasion, I seem to remember a couple tall buildings that got invaded back in 2001. Lincoln did the same as Bush, but, oh yeah, that's right, he did it to free the slaves, so that's okay. The said competition that bounced back is not the problem...it's the competition from within that threatens the US now. Even the places where Conservatism is still in place, such as the coin motto you mentioned, it is under attack and, yes, on the ropes. I have too many young kids in my circle of friends and family who astonish me every day with the anti-American themes they come home from school with.
By the way, if my rant made no sense, how did you learn enough from it to ask such intelligent questions....hmmmmmm?
All righty then...You seem to be a decent enough guy to converse with, and I do appreciate it, but I'm an old guy, and if I'm going to get up early and dig some silver "In God We trusts" I need to go saw some logs...come back tomorrow for more!!!
Please show examples of students being suspended for wearing a Jesus shirt, bringing a Bible to school, or being forced to study a class on the Quran. Your comment about fasting for Ramadan doesn't even make sense. Please provide an example of this, as it has me the most curious.
Good luck today with your digs. Hope you bring back some silvers.
All rights in the United States are based on the secular CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES.NO government agency or public school can force anyone to participate or not participate in any religious activity.Jay Sekulow of the ACLJ does push forth his own agenda,as do others with opposing views. The US is not,and has never been,or will ever be a theocrasy thanks to the foresight of our founding fathers. Thanks for not being crass in your response...Here is a link to the ACLJ, an org. that provides free legal rep. for those who have experienced some of the things I mentioned...Other similar legal orgs. exist and have websites as well. As for the Quran and Ramadan events I mentioned that was in a California School dist. The school served food without meat and whatever other ingredients Muslims avoid to honor the month of Ramadan, while at the same time banning Christian symbols on books or clothing, and refusing to have Christmas songs sung by the school choir. Truly, If I have time I will research it. (Google is your friend). I heard of this from a protest started by a group of parents that banded together to keep their kids home from school and out of the Quran classes. This stuff has been going on for years, the ACLJ and other orgs. have been battling it faithfully, lots of times the ACLJ wins the case so it doesn't get further than the local news...if the link doesn't work get back to me, Thanks again for your honest interest, and the kindness of your tone!

Just another example of the politics of fear, utilized by far too many groups in our current culture.

That's all I'm talkin' here.....Freedom.
I agree with you.I believe there was once a war over states rights.[h=2]Amendment X[/h]"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people."
This Amendment to our Constitution's Bill of Rights is violated daily, it is the one amendment that is violated more than all the others combined....
There is another war fixing to start if we don't stop going down the road of total federal control.I agree with you.I believe there was once a war over states rights.
