The Ring that broke my heart!!!!!!

As I said in a previous listing, I would be going back and showing some of my previous finds. Pictured here is a 18 KT mens ring that I found in a park last summer. Around the hole in the ring are 6 small diamonds. I found the ring at a depth of about 2 inches. By the time I was done digging in the area where I found the ring, the hole was about 2 foot wide, and 6 inches deep. If you are wondering why, I was looking for the diamond that went in the empty hole in the ring. I never did find it, so don't know if the person lost the ring, or just threw it away after losing the diamond. In either case, it was my first gold ring last year, and it did have the 6 small diamonds still in it. Sorry about the pictures, as it is a little hard to photograph. The ring looks plated to me also.

There's no hole thru the ring's apex in the middle where the stone was set.

It looks to me that the stone (probably not a diamond) was glued in. Glue is something that a jeweler would never set a diamond with.

I've seen many a ring that was stamped 14 or 18kt that was plated and set with synthetic gems.

Check the other small stones with a local respected jeweler as to if they are diamonds or not.

I hope they are, but your pics lead me elsewhere.

You're probably right. I never gave it a thought when I found it. The next ring that I will be picturing, will definately be gold. Thanks for your thoughts on this item.

you still found some amount of gold!!!!......i'm in the same boat, i have only found one gold ring, and one gold filled, solid come out of the ground like the day they were lost..
