thats the exact reason why i work for myself!
Its bad enough a person spends most their life having to go to work everyday.
There has to be something that your good at, and that you like doing that you could possibly make a living at? Think real hard. Im telling you theres nothing better than being your own boss!

I used to work for myself but the economy got so bad I had to lay myself off.

THAT would be AWESOME!

Which is why I conduct my own business...
If an opportunity presents itself, treasurefinding, meteor finding, or gold recovery,
I'll make a quick move to whatever is most rewarding.

Everything went well today, did NOT lose my position, job or anything else. No formal write up just a don't do it again or else.... So all is good. Yes I too want to be my own boss, that is why I started my own website ( www.goldenmirages.com ). So if I can get enough people to join ( hint hint ) some day I too might have that luxury. But right now I do what I have to, and I guess this is a live and learn situation. Thankx to everyone for being soooo supportive, believe it has REALLY helped. I can now but the peanut butter ice cream, beer, pistachio's, and T bone steak back....

I think there was actually some remorse on her part as well. I think she just intended to tell the store mgr, and have him handle it in house. But he took up the ladder and after she realized how big it became, she said she was sorry. When the corp mucks left, we talked and I explained to her one has to be VERY careful about what one tells another (-especially managers and above- and I need to watch what I say as well- that what I learned too ). We talked and I told her if I caused ANY fear I am VERY VERY sorry. I also said that if you feel that way just let me know and then I would have changed what I was doing. She said she will from now on.All's good and all's well....

HOLA mi amigo Pegleglooker - sorry to hear that you had such an experience. I have to join our compadres here and also recommend looking for another place to work. Even though this last incident eventually worked out, a person shouldn't have to work that way, watching your every word that MIGHT be mis-construed or misunderstood, having to watch your back constantly, and frankly the daily dose of religion would really grind on me. (Just me though, I would probably tell her that I am an Atheist or muslim or Hindu or Buddhist etc just to freak her out, or point out that the bible doesn't really say that the world is only 3000 years old that is what Bishop Ussher mistakenly calculated by adding up the ages of patriarchs etc, some folks get so "religious" that they take someone else's interpretation as if it came from God. ) The fact that you had this incident should be a red flag, that it can and WILL happen again and next time they might have Homeland Security come to handcuff you. (I wish I were kidding. )Keep at it with Golden Mirages too (a really great treasure hunting site amigos, I joined not long ago) and maybe you will be able to just work for yourself.

hey gang,
WOW!!!!! I am TRULY amazed at all the support that I have recieved here. I cannot express what it REALLY has meant to me to have someone to talk to... THANK YOU ALL !!!!! Oro, you are a true friend, because a TRUE friend will tell you the way it is, and your right I should look for a new job. The problem is, I get paid REAL WELL.....and I don't know where I could go and make the same money. Maybe I should move to Deadwood ?? LOL....This is why my site is soooo important to me, it is my way of becoming my own boss. It's a way that I " might " ( God willing ) be able to do what I LOVE, and be able to survive as well. This is why I stay at my job, this job will enable me to afford what I have to do to keep it running. I'm " hoping " that I would able to walk away in about a year or two and dedicate my life to the site. Every moment I have away from work I'm working on the site and I do a TON of things behind the scenes to try and stay a step ahead.One thing I do, is every month a buy about $70-75 worth of magazine's ( True West, Wild West, American Archeologist, Lost Treasure, W&E Treasure, Smithsonian etc. ) This way I have something to put on my site and maybe it will connect with someone and envoke a cooool exchange of thoughts. In this light I bought Biblical Archeology for my coworker, you should have seen the look on her face. Here are Biblical scholars verifing what I have been saying.... It changed the conversation very easily. I have toyed with the idea of saying that I am gnostic, or something else.... but I can't, their belief is their's and I can get through it. Besides maybe I can learn something here....Anyway, Thankx guy and gals for all that you have said, from someone who has no family and whose kids live in Australia, this has been a very needed place and I humbly THANK YOU !!!!!!
