This Morning's Hunt with Surfmaster PI
Well, I was having a nice hunt on the beach this morning. It was a bit chilly, but the water was real low and flat. Darn shame about the all the seaweed and jelly fish, probably a lot of good finds to be had. I found $1.76 in clad, two junk earings, a few fish hooks and about a .25 carat stone and marked 14K ring. I'm pretty sure the gold is real, if the diamond is, it's not a very good stone and is poorly cut. The gold doesn't seem as lusterous as it should be, but if it were plated it would have worn and rusted. It had obviously been buried a while. The stone is heart shaped. I will have to take it to a jeweler.

This was the maiden voyage of my new to me Surfmaster PI. I know it's an older model, but this detector is a keeper. I dug a fish hook at 12" and a quarter about the same. Several junk targets that were as deep or deeper.
