Well after yesterdays ring that I thought was 18K and was only stainless I was ready to get out and hunt this morning ! My hunting buddy Ryan (eagleforce) and I have been hunting a large school field for the past 4 years and it has given up gold twice , just not for me . This time I got the gold ! The first good find was a 925 silver pendent with a 4 leaf clover in it . This was the luck I needed

. Then on the other side of the soccer field I got a jumpy signal that had a high tone in it . When I dug it up the first thing I saw was tiny gold ! I couldn't even get a reading on it ! I was just lucky the hole had a clad dime in it and a 14K gold ear ring . I thought finally I found some gold here ! Well that was just the appetizer

. About an hour later near the goal line I got a screaming +68 , +72 at 3 inches . I couldn't believe what I saw at the bottom of the hole , BIG GOLD !!!! It is a 14K gold wedding band that weighs 13.3 grams ! I couldn't stop looking at it

. After all that I got two more junk rings , 1945S wheat and a hammer pendent . Total rings now for the year is at #121

Awesome ring! I passed up a bunch of Zincs at a school today and dug the stupid tabs for no prize. Maybe I need to head back and dig some more pennies.

Thats a nice chunk of gold

Congratulations on your find! I had to notice your reading "screaming +68 , +72 at 3 inches." I assume that is a VDI reading. It is really amazing how the alloy content on heavier men's ring can push readings deep into the penny if not dime range.

It's a size 9 and 5/16 wide  . Hey Kevin I found it at the same school you found that big gold ring last year with Ryan and I :headbang: .
Lets hunt soon !!!

Wow that spot is amazing! I cant believe all the rings that came out of those fields over the years. A swingers dream...lol. The weather is cooling down now, we will have to get out there soon!

Now that is a Ring. Congrats Glen on a fabulous find.

Very nice indeed, got to love big heavy rings.

I love that gold ring and the ear ring looked gold, too but I love the unique items you found. The clover and the little hammer were something else. Congratulations.

Nice monster gold ring !!!! You really "nailed" it on this hint! Lol
