Very spectacular scenery.

Fossis............

Thanks Fossis,

It seems to remind me every time, what a special place I have been trusted with.

Thom

Old Dog......Thank you for sharing those beautiful photos. I can't think of any place in the UK to compare with that. Except maybe parts of the Lake district, and the Highlands of Scotland, but on a smaller scale.

regards Unicorn.

p.s. you sound like an extremely contented man.

Unicorn,
You are most welcome.

With this country to explore
a wonderful family
all the dogs I could ever want
and some happy horses
a handful of Spanish signs to chase,

I can't find too much to complain about
Except maybe too much winter this year,
But that too will pass

In the mountains surrounding us there are streams and lakes to flyfish
and big game to hunt .

I have the best job in the world and a wonderful wife who is just as in love with this as I am.

I must agree I am pretty content.

I will post some more pics tomorrow or the next day.

post some pics for us! I would love to see the forests of Sweden!

tom, stunning!

Mamabear,
It really is stunning,
And I get to live here amidst it all.

I feel pretty lucky all the time.
Even on a bad day I can look at one of these spectacular sunsets,
and walk away with something nobody can ever spoil.

And I'm not kidding you,
we have the most spectacular sunrises and sunsets I have ever seen, Bar None.

Thom

I think this will be my "happy place" to "go" to for awhile. thanx for sharing it.

man that is awesome! its a lot different than the forests and hills of northern Delaware!

Looks a lot like a part of Colorado I've seen driving the highway from Denver, that takes you all the way to and through Las Vegas, NV. I have some nice memories of the scenic view all along the way.

Thanks Red,

There are a lot of folks who live here and don't even see it.
They think you have to go out of your way to find this stuff.
All of the first group of pictures were taken in and from the Colorado National Monument.
which is only a couple miles from town.

I'll show you guys the other side of the valley in a day or so.

Thom

Absolutely stunning! The green sure does add to the desert scenery.

Would you mind if I copied and printed the first one of the spanish trail, I'd love it in my office. I have the perfect place. :)

I REALLY hate to say this but.....I'd like to see some snow pictures. :-\

Hollowpointred,

And you guys have whitetailed deer out there,
we never get them here.
I don't think they are tough enough.

Thom

Thank you!

No whitetailed deer, oh no! I would surely miss them. No they really aren't that tough now are they? They use our snowmobile trails here so they don't bust there ankles up. We fed them one winter the snow was so deep. One of the Doe's was limping and the hubby was afraid if she ddn't gain some strength the Coyotes would get her.

Old Dog,
Awesome!! I can't say anything more. Just awesome.
Joe

Kim,
We do have mule deer here, they are half again bigger than white tailed deer.
We also have Elk, and some Moose, mountain sheep, and occaisionally a very cagey wild cow.

I even have photos of the deer and elk. they are winter pictures with a better chance for snow I will look and see what I have, should be fun.

Thom

thanks Joe,

Sometimes i feel like that too.
The rest of the time It leavs me speachless.

LOL

This is a picture of the Mountain ridge Known as the Book Cliffs Yes as you drive down I-70 these are what loom above you and sometimes throw house size rocks at you
The mountain where they turn is called Mount Garfield.
This picture was taken from the highway going over the top of the Grand Mesa with a huge lense.
the lense iself mounted to the tripod and the camera on the back of it looked like a little toy.
