This place I call Home

Randy,

Thanks for looking,
This thread has been a lot of fun and a good place to go for refrence.

It will at least let you see a part of Colorado you won't see if you take a tour...LOL

This is where God keeps a vacation place.
I do love these canyons.

And you are welcome anytime.

Thom

This post is for all who remember the pictures in posts 14 and 15 in the beginning of the thread.
I have spent a lot of time and hard terrain study and made a beeline across country to the end of that red ridge in the distance of #14.
Today found Ted and I on the edge of that red ridge, and loving the view.
Here is a shot in reverse from the edge of the ridge back towards the cliff where I was standing in the first photo.

And some friends we found along the way.
This is a first.
I have never been able to get this close before.

It just goes to show that you are spending waaaaaaaaaaaay to much time on that ridge they KNOW you belong there! ;D

Mental Granny,

Are you trying to tell Thom that one old goat, knows another? :D ;D ;D

TW

No! I would never say that to Thom ;D He is just blending in with the secenery very well! :icon_sunny:

And uh no I am tooooo smart to call you an old goat either! Hehe!

Evy,

If I change my disguise too much they spook.
I was really tickled to be able to see them this close and get pictures,

The biggest surprise was packing up and leaving ...
they were still there just munching away,
Not concerned in the least.

Nice ones! never seen them up that close myself either! Thanks for sharing them with us! ~hugs~

Thanks Cyndi,

It may be my next avatar I like it so much.
I know you had to work, but I hope your birthday was OK anyway.

Thom

Thom,

Yeah, my kind of woman...........gun toting ;D

Tom

A change of avatar and I am off and running again LOL.

I kind of like these sheep,
they are a reminder that even as desolate as it can look,
you are never really alone.

Thom

I think it makes a mighty fine avatar as well as reminder! Too cool!

Looking good Thom

TW

I love the animal shots the best, and it does make a fantastic avitar! :icon_sunny:

We had a very hard set of storms blew through last night.
The kind of "frog strangler" that really moves things around.

So went out early to see what Ma Nature had done and together we got 290 pix.

Here is a rare shot of the Grand Mesa rising out of the mists.
I have seen it only once before and now it is here for you all.
