This Spot Hadn't Been Plowed In 70 Years

I got permission to hunt a spot that the farmer said had been in pasture for 70 years. If he had deep rolled it I have a feeling I would have been able to fill my pockets up one every hunt, but he only chiseled it and I still found some really nice pieces and a bunch of brokes. I have only got to hunt it twice because we;ve only had one good rain on it and I hurt my back at work and have been down for a couple of weeks. If we get more rain I will definitely go back down and try it again.

I found the first Point, a really nice Hopewell, within 5 of walking into the field and the second one, a really nice Side Notch, about 25 minutes later. Everything you see I found in about 3 hours of hunting. The Axe was really disappointing because I really thought it was all there. Sorry about the curse words, but I think you can understand my frustration.

What an awesome opportunity and nice finds! What was the purpose of the smooth round piece in the bottom left pic?

Great hunt Steve!

Got to love days like that!

That piece is a huge and very nice Granite Hammerstone. I usually don't pick these up but that one was way to nice to leave behind.

nice finds congrats HH

Great videos. I was right there with you. That bit exposed like that you needed some music. It would have been killer but the others made up for it. Great new spot and thanks for sharing:thumbsup:

What a field once the rain really hits it you are going to find some really nice pieces. I would be amped searching that field. What a shame with that axe. Still some nice scores.

Wow you have found a honey hole Steve!! Great looking finds. Hope you find many more out there..Congrats!!:icon_thumleft:

Thanks everyone. I went back down tonight with a buddy and we hunted a spot close to this one and everything is planted in beans so there won't be much more hunting there after the beans pop up. I think I'll try to get back down tomorrow and Thursday and then that will probably be it. The beans are already up in most of the fields so I guess I'll have to hit the river banks next. They look really good.

Man what a great day!!!

Great finds and looks like you had allot of fun.

Looks like you had a great morning hunting Steve. Thanks for sharin' I always like seeing your videos..

Thanks for taking us along- Awesome day, for sure!

That's 3 hours well spent! Nice finds.

Here's a few more finds from the same spot. The beans are up really good now so no more hunting the fields, but now I have the river bank to hunt as soon as it drops a little bit more.

The Adz is the last thing I found on this site and really rounded out a great Spring there. I didn't get an in situ pic, but I did get a video of it. I have a feeling this spot will really start producing next year after it's turned again.

Nice finds!
Is that yet another perfect adze? Or have I seen that before?
I'm feeling deja vu.

Yeah, I think I posted it right after I found it. I just thought I would add it to this thread as well since it's about the site.

Anything that nice..deserves twice.
Good luck with the shoreline hunting.
