Went up to visit some family for the holiday weekend and first thing my nephew asks is if I brought my metal detectors. I of course had brought them as my parents live in and around some older OK towns. My brother in-law says he has a buddy in an old part of town who just moved in to his parent’s original house and asks if I want to go check it out. Off we go and upon arriving find his buddy not home, guess we should have called first. But since we are there, right down the street is the park, so we stop. After making sure my nephew is good to go on the ace 250, I break out the trusty XLT. I found a few dollars in clad, pocket full of pull tabs and just as we were getting ready to leave the ring. When I first saw the gold in the ground, I thought for sure that I finally dug my first gold ring. But after cleaning the inside and finding no marks I am still looking. It was fun to finally get out and dig, thanks to the break in this OK heat. Good Luck out there!!!

Awe. Too bad, like you said keep at it.
I too had the same thing happen to me with a plated tiger eye ring.
Still a nice find.
