Greetings All- I've been exploring some new spots, close to home. These are areas that I have over-looked in years past, mostly because they are difficult to access. But what the hell...I suddenly find my self with some extra hours to devote to detecting, so I'm taking a look at everything with fresh eyes. Yesterday's site is a steeply sloped wooded lot that is wedged between a school complex and a residential development.

The first good target was a large copper. That was a nice surprise. It's very worn, but you can see a right facing bust on the obverse. It weighs 8.3 grams, and is 28 mm in diameter. I'm guessing its a Draped Bust LC, but I'm not 100%

About an hour later I found the three Barbers. Two of them ( dime and quarter) were part of a pocket spill. The third a off by itself

The Barber quarter is my favorite... 1894-S...all in all a great hunt! Thanks for looking!

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Wow way to go that's a hunt to remember!!! Great finds!!! The copper looks like a KGIII to me. Definitely a right facing bust but the head looks too wide to be a draped bust and the little pony tail is a give away too. The reverse looks like a very faint outline of Britania as well! Silver is awesome but it's hard to beat a colonial copper! It's neat to imagine what someone was doing up there in colonial times!

Very nice. I would call 3 Barbers in a hunt, one great hunt.

Sweet digs, grats!

Wow that was an excellent outing. Congrats on the finds.

close to home is good, nice barbers.

Nice digs. I believe your copper is a William & Mary, much older that a Draped Bust!

You did very well! Wow, what a haul!
That one coin may be a Vermont copper - a super Find...! :icon_thumright:

Awesome!
The copper is a William and Mary btw, all dated 1694.

Great finds William & Mary Awesome!!

Well done, congrats! :occasion14:

That’s what I’m talkin about. Congratulations :icon_thumright:

My vote is for William and Mary too. Three Barbers in one hunt? I have only found two in over a year and a half of detecting. Congrats on the great finds.

Nice group of Barbers!

Looks like the " BARBER" was waiting for you all this time, wondering when you were coming!!! GREAT GREAT finds.

Nice finds!!! I’ll agree with the crowd, the copper looks british to me as well!! Congrats

Great finds neighbor- try to leave a few for the rest of us Mass folks!

That copper is most likely a William and Mary, the bust is quite wide, and you can see the tops of both William and Mary's hair. The coin was made between 1689 - 1694. Welcome to the 1600's club, I found one of these last year as well!
