Took my son with me (he's my good luck charm) back to spot where I found my war nickel yesterday. I found my first Standing Liberty Quarter, its a no date, but still very beautiful to me. I also found a 1938 Merc, nice shape she is in, and my son found his first Mercury Dime, a 1941 in very nice shape also. Another great memory with my son, we almost looked like those two drama queens, ringy and skipper from diggers. High fives, fist pumps, and hugs were in order. I'm so glad he found that Merc. He also found a 1955 wheatie.

Thanks guys, I woke up early, caught the md bug bad, could not fall back to sleep. I have been researching how to get a date on my dateless SLQ. Very interesting stuff, I'm thinking a type 2 between 1917 and 1924 Looks like I'm in for a very long day, I'm headed back out there, So much more area to be done. I'm very excited, I know last night it was hard to slow myself down, we got in an area that I'll have to redo, I left that area headed for a big tree when I found the 38 Merc then we both spun out of control until we just could not see anymore it got so dark. Ha my son had me laughing that it is a long walk back to the truck in the dark through the woods. I was riding my bike, he was walking. I'll be out there by myself today.
