I was fortunate enough to run into an old campsite in the woods. Lots of targets and plenty of junk. 1869, 1870 and 1871 seated halfs were the only coins found. One was obviously in a fire of some sort.

The gun was found in the same area but I'm not sure if its from the same period. Any ideas on the gun? Is it real a toy or what? It seems to be too heavy to be a toy but I know very little about guns.

There was a lot of poison oak around and a week or so when the poison oak on my arms clears up I'll head back to see what else may be out there.

Oh Man!
What a sweet hunt!
Sorry you only found three! Geeeeeeeez!

If I find a seated half in Michigan you will hear me in Oregon!

Found a '45 walking half yesterday, my second EVER. Let me know if you want to trade.

Congratulations! And welcome to Tnet.

What a stunner!! The halves are stellar, someone starting a collection that got 3 years along (unless there are more still hiding), and a great assortment of what look like suspender clips? The pair with the 'Xes', is that a Confederate flag design? And the cavalry hat pin or collar emblem..

Hoo wee.... When the poison oak gets better, put on a Michelin Man suit and get on back there!!

the gun looks like a toy to me and quite a bit younger than those incredible halves! :o

AMAZING Winslow !!! 3 seated halfs , I have'nt found 1 seated half yet ! You ROCK :headbang:

OOOO is that all! LOL GEEZ.......Did I say UNBELIEVEABLE?!! Nice finds HOGGE

Now that's almost unbelievable!

Three excellent coins found in the poison oak and hard rain, man, your a monster!

How did ya keep the coinstrike dry?
How deep were the coins?
Were they all in the same hole?

Very nice halfs A+ on the finds

Beautiful, large, bountiful silver. Most excellent. Congrats - AMC

Very nice job on the seated halfs and buckles! Those all look pretty awesome! I have no idea about the gun though. :icon_scratch:

what about the axe head? That looks pretty cool. Nice finds

Awesome finds. Forget the poison oak go back and dig.

You know finding the coins is amazing enough but it also looks like you have two TWO Sash buckles with Confederate flags on them. Those are impressive finds in themselves. I may be mistaken but they look like the sash buckles that were commonly given too many stars on the Confederate flag but indeed thats what they look to be. In addition, the crossed sabers can reach upwards of 200-300 dollars if they are authentic to the Civil War/ Indian wars era....I would be inclined to say they are Indian Wars or later being that you're in Oregon but than again, I would'nt know how to explain the sash buckles unless they were owned by an ex-Southern soldier who went out west with the U.S. Army to fight or they are UCV items.. Great finds

P.S. Thats also a very nice old axe blade that you have there.

I could only dream of finds like those. Wow I am dumb founded. Great finds.

Only three coins dug, sheesh! I'd kill for just one of those. Amazing.

Winslow welcome to T-net !!! And I'll be the first to shout BANNER finds !!! I've never seen any

posts with plural seated halves in one hunt . The condition of those two are righteous. Great finds!

Argentium.

Welcome to T-Net., Looks like your on your way to a lot of fantastic posts. I'd go back
to that site and dig every signal. Slow down and dig the iffy signals. You might even put your
detector in all metal mode. There has to be more treasures there.
