I went back to my latest sweet spot today but by the time I got there, I had no more time. I was only able to hunt for maybe 30 minutes, if that.

Besides the usual trash and a little clad, I did find this thing. First pic is the inside. It looks to have either gold paint or it's gold colored metal of some sort, as well as a bracket and an LRT (little round thing) on the bottom (or top??) .

Here's the other 'scalloped" side with a coin for scale:

And, here's a side view for thickness:

It's definitely part of something. Exactly what, I have no clue.
It may even be old given some of my other finds at this location. I hunted for more parts for a little while but found nothing. I'll try again next time I get out there.
Any help with ID is greatly appreciated.

I also found this very tiny cross. I actually thought it was plastic at first but now I'm thinkin' may be genuine imitation tin. Ironically I found another tiny religious medal just yesterday not far from where I found it; as well as a tiny religious lapel pin just three days ago. That's three tiny religious items in three days.
Ya' think maybe someone up there is trying to tell me something??

Only the dime is silver and is only there for scale:

That's pretty much it. Not much of a hunt but it is a bit of a mystery if nothing else.
Besides, if we had a greats hunt every day, they wouldn't be great.

Thanks for looking and HH.

part of a lapel pin or broach?

Mystery find seems unusual, odd -- hope someone i.d.'s it. :dontknow:

As for 3 tiny religious items you've found -- must be a tiny religious elf is preceding you to your hunting grounds! :laughing7:
Have Fun! Andi

Looks like a clip on earring.

Your cross looks silver, did you check it for marks with a loop?

Nice finds, fun stuff trying to solve mysterys

That cross is tiny, probably read like foil? Nice save. Zoom view won't work for me here on your picture.

I checked it. It's definitely not silver.
No such luck this time.

No. I found it in all metal mode which is one tone for everything.
It was right under the surface and I didn't bother checking it tone wise.

I have no clue why the zoom isn't working. It's working fine for me.

Nice finds G424. GL&HH.

Now I'm thinkin' you may be right.
The round piece could be the backing and the clip could have fit into the bracket.
maybe it was gold on both sides at one time. The gray side was facing up when I dug it.

The next question is, how old is it??

It's still ugly though.
