To be able to continue illegal acts, the government must eventually block the internet superhighway. If they didn't, they're own illegal activities will continue to be made public. (re: WikiLeaks).
You are an informed man, The only way to continue the "fundamental change of America" that many are ignoreing is to stop the flow of information between free people.

or by allowing only selected "information" to be released thus giving the appearance of "freedom" -- yet all the while closely monitering the internet -- and seeing who goes to what websites - electronic tracking of whos going to which websites and what their "reading" and seeing what they say on their blogs -- its a form of "brain police"

the internet is a great govt "tool" for finding out who's "freinds" with who , what you think and what your "interest" are (via the sites you visit and what you post) --

now say--a fellow named " A" blows up something --well lets see who guy A was talking to-- break out his online visiting list and "buddies" list --ok start check up on these folks --ASAP --see how it works folks?--so be very careful where you go on the net and what you post --its not nearly as "private" as you think it is.

everything that goes thru wires or thru the air is monitored 24/7/365 by NSA. They have over 10 Ac. of underground computer storage. If you don't hear from me again, you know what happened! John Smith

If you don't want something read that will come back and haunt you, don't put it in writing.

Stewie Griffin and I learned this valuable tip years ago on our quest for "world domination." ;D

I don't think "our" govt would shut down the internet, as so many in govt are paid to read what everyone writes, and they could face unemployment then, unless they were given jobs posting new lies on internet. I could be wrong.

I've seen it claimed govt now has 55 agencies to spy on public. Don't know how many people are employed by them. Maybe not as many as I might guess.
They *might* have machines that do high speed internet reading and when a person uses a certain word, a brief investigation could happen. I can't help but wonder about the cost to taxpayers.

I go to sites and see ads from other sites I've looked at. May be helpful for sales, but I wonder if govt pays them to share this sites visited data??

The govt knows what sites we look at, even if we never post or register. I have seen where a site was shut down for days to investigate every person who visited it, as one person posted something that seemed like a terroristic threat.

Summary: govt can investigate us more easily if they don't close down internet.
Agree? Feel free to disagree. Best wishes, George (MN)

So very true. The Government would never shut down the greatest source of intelligence on the planet.
with the creation of Carnivore and it's offspring like Einstein 3 the Gov controls the world wide internet.

With In-Q-Tel a CIA investment firm & Google that created "Recorded Future" an analytics tool for ultimate open source intelligence all information is mined, sorted and recorded forever.

I recommend scroogle as an alternative to google if you don't want some innocent search becoming a part of public record.

The law is no longer black and white. It now is a lovely shade of gray with your rights only applying as
long as you comply because if you don't then you have something "to hide" and must be guilty.

George, you are right. The key words trigger a monitering, otherwise it is just recorded.

;D It cracks me up how people don't get it! I love watching court shows, like People's Court, Judge Judy, and a few others, and time and time again, people are told, when it comes to the internet, there is no such thing as privacy. Don't put on the internet, things you don't want known, because it could come back to bite you in the a$$! :-[ Red

Actually what I'm speaking of is the things that the government does, that makes it's way to the public. The government is the most hyprocritical entity that ever was... They tell you not the break the law, but they themselves break it on a daily bases.

And time and time again, some people put things on the internet that they know someone's gonna bite....

Hook, line, and sinker.
:read2:

Again, I'm not talking about civilians... I'm talking about our own government that does illegal activities and tried to hide them.

Actually I agree with mike, the government cannot continue to have free access to the things they are doing, there are many new regs on the way to remedy our ability to find the truth.
