Just wanted to say a huge "THANK-YOU" to all the Marines! We wouldn't be where we are without your service to our country!

Back at ya Terry!!

Great post! Happy Veterans Day from one Vet to another.

Pouring rain all day but I don't care. Today is a holiday - but all days are a holiday since I retired. I did meet a new friend yesterday, living in an early 1800's house, with a really big dog that wanted to lay in my lap. He settled for just making me pet him :)

Thanks, Terry! All our careers, my buddy Dave (Army), and me (Air Force), while out in the cold November weather, would wish each other a "Happy Veteran's Day". Then we'd start laughing, as we thought of all the non-veterans who got the day off, and then we'd get back to work, shoveling concrete, tying rebar, and packing formwork around on "our day".
Jim

I see nothing wrong with it, Tommy! Seriously, we are all spokes in a wheel. Take a spoke out and the wheel is useless. ╦╦C

I think it is funny TommyB. The rivalry between Marines and Army is well know. I had uncles in Marines, Army, Navy, brother was Army Warrant Officer flying copters in Nam for 3 tours and my father was in Army Air Corp then Air Force, he was tail gunner on B17s. I joined the Air Force during Nam because my father was in the Air Force. I constantly see digs at the Air Force, doesn't really bother me, no one complained when the Air Force Jet fighters and B-52s was bombing the crap out of the enemy positions trying to overrun bases and camps in Nam..... Some old timers may know what Arc Light missions were, that was me.

Unfortunately the 3 tours my brother did as copter pilot ended up killing him later on because of Agent Orange.

Am I the only one who has this memory? There we were, getting sworn in: “raise your right hand and repeat after me, ‘I, state your name...’ “ and some clown, instead of saying his name said “state your name”. And they gave this guy a weapon and live rounds. You can’t make this stuff up.

Happy Veteran’s Day to all you vets and to my generation: “Welcome Home”.

Didn't happen on my induction that I heard, but some did raised the wrong hands.

Thanks Guys & Gals, I hope We made a difference...Seabees-----------?? what, I'd never heard of the Seabees in 1965.. I loved it. "You drive/operate farm equipment, and that's what you're going to do in the Navy."
