Today's 1 hour hunt
I had plans to go metal detecting early today and avoid the heat, but things changed for what ever reason. I decided to make a hunt anyway and go to one of my favorite spots near my home. When I got to the area it was about 90 degrees and no shade. I usually metal detect my way to the spot, but today I decided to just walk there to save some time. I was using my MXT with my favorite search coil, a 6" DD Excelerator. My detector sang out with my first hit, a pull tab at 4" down. I dug the target and out rolled this heavy 10K gold mans ring which had a diamond on the face. As I knelt there admiring the ring I almost forgot how hot it was. I continued my hunt and was able to recover a little clad, a heart pendant and a dogs Id tag, before I noticed that my faithful companion and hunting partner, Rags, was suffering with the heat and I was, so I called it a good day and left for home. Thanks for looking and happy hunting, Dennis in Idaho
