I haven't posted in a while. I've been going out quite often finding some decent old coins and such. These days I usually post if I find older silver or something out of the ordinary that I think fellow tnet'ers would find interesting. Today I went to a trashy city park with the sharpshooter coil on the ATP.

My first cool find was this Elks 56th Annual Reunion Pin July 1920. Manufactured by Robbins Co.

Next I found my first ever real gun! I'm not sure what kind it is and I didnt take it home. I left it on the surface. No danger since it's locked.

Make sure leaf clutter is checked carefully as there could be silver mixed in. I didn't have to dig this Merc.

Thanks for reading and good luck to all on your hunts.

Cool finds. I’d bet money that gun was stolen.

Interesting that you found a silver basically on the surface in the woods. I found a couple Rosie’s a couple years ago on the surface in the woods, but they were in a run off/erosion area. The locked gun is an unusual find. Congrats !

You should have anonymously called the cops and told them where the gun was it could help eliminate a stolen weapon report.

That gun would be coming with me....you left it on the surface?...in a park? Nice finds....

Way to go Metal Headz on some cool and also super interesting finds!

Nice merc. I can’t believe you left that gun on the surface. I would have called the sheriff. A locked gun probably means a stolen gun and later tossed. I would be interested in why you left the gun.

Gun was probably stolen or otherwise involved in criminal activity.

Hi, nice finds. Congrats:icon_thumright:

Nice finds! :icon_thumleft:

Would probably be best to recover the gun and turn it in or at least notify the police.

Those are some nice finds. I agree with the rest. You wouldnt want to keep the gun, as I'm sure it was stolen, but Police should be notified.

Nice finds. Congrats

Call the cops! It's a public service.... And the police will thank you for it, and just might win you some very good will.

Heard of some really stupid movers in the past,, but leaving the gun in the park has to be a new low!!!!!!!!

That Elks badge is cool Louis, but I would go back and get that gun.

I was thinking the same thing or it could have been tied to a homicide. I know where i left it so I may just report it.

It's in a wooded area with no trails and low chance of anyone seeing it.

I'll do that after work this week. What's the best way to turn it in? Have an officer meet me there or take it to the station myself?
