Broken piece, the base, nice colors and material. Blue/gray with red veins. Maybe a Beaver Lake on the type...just guessing as usual. Thought I’d share it. Thanks

Anyone have any thoughts on the chert? Would it also fall in the realm of Paoli, even though it is sort of a blue gray color. I’m guessing everything I’m finding here was probably sourced/mined close by. Thanks

Yes indeed, thanks. Wanted to share one more pic today of this busted base, show the color blue better in natural light. Spent about 3 hours in there to find this, but every single piece is worth it to me. I know, lots of pics for a little broke piece. Have a great one folks !

Looks more like Indiana Hornstone or Wyandotte than Carter Cave. Not everything you'll find will have been sourced nearby, stuffed traveled long distances even then. That's the fun part of shelter digging, especially if you're in the mac daddy of shelters in the vicinity, you'll find many different types of flint. Keep up the good work!

Makes sense to me. I had looked at the others mentioned above as well. Thought it really looked close to the Wyandotte pics I found looking around internet searches. Thanks for the feedback, I learn so much from the folks on this forum, and reading the older posts.
