Metal Detecting
Found these items yesterday and today...not sure if the small medallion is gold-that was the most exciting find! Threw away 3 crushed soda cans and 4 bottle caps. My arm is tired, but I learned a lot about my machine after four hours total of detecting. I worked two neighborhood parks.:angel3::unhappysmiley:

Welcome to T-Net from Northern Virginia...keep swinging:icon_thumleft:

You're doing very well! Keep up the good work!
Treat park lawns as you would your own.
Learn and re-learn your owner's manual,
and continue using your machine a LOT....!
LEARN from your machine - what it can do, and can't.
Have A LOT of FUN!
Welcome to Treasure Net!

Nice finds and welcome to the forum from Niagara Falls.

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Looks like a great start.

Not gold in my opinion but still fun looking.

Well done, and welcome to Tnet...:hello:

You got the ring and some bling. Your living up to your name on only the second hunt, congrats !! Maybe you should change your name to gold bars and treasure chests !! LOL !!

Very nice finds. I hope it's gold. Post a pic of the cleaned up ring too.

Nice finds R & B. The more you use your detector, the better you will get to know what it is telling you. Best thing to do is just dig it all ! The key and medallion are nice finds.

Welcome from RI! Looks like a great hunt and you already found some bling and ring...You already have begun to learn your machine and that all treasure comes with trash. Parks are a good place to practice. Have fun. Looking forward to your posts!

Nice finds, always exciting to hear the detectors go off.

Welcome to TNET and congrats on some decent finds, especially since it was only your second time out. Metal Detecting is sort of like fishing, the more you do them, the better you get at it!

Welcome, young lady.... I didn't start detecting until I was 38..... 29 years later, I have found over a 1,000 silver coins and love detecting more than when I started.. Good luck to you, have fun and enjoy your treasures, free exercise and fresh air and all nature has to show you... Basssmann

Nice finds, congratulations! :occasion14:

I'd be willing to bet you will find a Ford logo on that key when you clean it. To me, half the fun of detecting is figuring out what I have found. Good providence on your next hunt.

Welcome to the site. Nice start. Was the ring a junker or tarnished silver?

It was a junker, Tom. But I am gonna view it as the first in a path to bigger and better rings!! :laughing7:

Welcome to TNet. Congrats on your first couple hunts. Watch it, you'll get the feeeever.

I have been bitten by the bug, and now I am a zombie detectorist! I can't stop, lol! sorry for the late response, I didn't see any of these responses until today. Happy Holidays!

Great job keep it up, persistence is key! If that pendant is gold your off to one hell of a new beginning.

Thank you, Mike! I haven't found out yet, but going to take the pendant in to get it checked. Happy Holidays!

Way cool ! Now you have to get a gold test kit.
Then a diamond tester.
Then a ultra sonic cleaner.
Then a buffer/polisher.
Then a ...........
LOL.
Good job !

I have got to slow myself down, Bob! I already have a purchase list, and ideas for next year...was it the same way for you when you started?
