You might be right on the mark with the bone Idk he seemed very knowledgeable but I was rushed kids had to get to the ballpark lol I've seen those marks on different kinds of stones harder ones and limestone ones maybe they used different stones for different tools idk lol

Yes many stones were also used for grinding the bases of points to dull the edges so they would not cut through the binding used to attach them to the shaft.
 

Interesting thanks for your responses your always very helpful I have been doing some research I always find lots of big adzes and chisels I'm guessing with all the water here there was some canoe and woodworking being done

He has a spear that is like 14 inches long and your white piece you say is an adze how thick is it it might be a nice knife to thin and it wouldn't work good as an adze ?

I see its up by Clarksville I have a buddy in Clarksville nice country up that way. Ive been there once.
