What do u guys think

on the very first post of this thread i am looking at the second image
the large reduction flake taken from that piece appears as if it would have been easily knapped into an arrow point, possible scraper, or flake blade without a lot of effort
now i am not a flint knapper and may be missing it here ....just sayin'......just my thoughts on the piece

to be finding so many large worked but unfinished pieces....all from a similar type of stone says something too. You may be on to an occupation site and not just a hunting area.

especially given the number of larger unfinished pieces....perhaps the source in nearby....

Great place for them to occupy water flint and flat ground to farm I would say it has all they needed I do live in Dover where Dover flint is from lol

Right!
I'm guessing most of what you will find there will be from a time of hunting and gathering during the Archaic period well before farming started.
If you were finding pieces of pottery I might think different.

Ok I have some real nice points I've found now and a sharpening stone points look archaic

What are you calling pic #5 in the last set of pics posted?

That is the coolest sharpening stone I've ever found looks even cooler wet but the white side is like glittery in the sun

Pic 5 and 6 are the same piece I had talked to an expert over the weekend and showed him some pictures and I learned a little on the sharpening process and he told me about the lines he is an old man with a collection you would die for lol I'll take pictures next time I go

Ok I havent found anything like it yet. I knew the shape was unique and was wondering. Id like to see pics of the guys collection. How old is he?

It would work to sharpen bone.

He has a spear that is like 14 inches long and your white piece you say is an adze how thick is it it might be a nice knife to thin and it wouldn't work good as an adze ?

Or sharpening other softer stones too

Any softer than that it wouldn't be any good as a tool.

He also said they would use it after the flint or chert were done to file the edge lightly in spots
