Today's hunt. I found the key to the Vermont copper house!
I got out for a little while this morning. A couple of hours or so. I decided to hunt the area around where i found the 1786 and 1787 Vermont coppers. I hunted it in DC mode (all metal) and dug all signals. I hit 3 or 4 square nails and then this key popped out of the ground. If I had to guess I would say it was lost by the same people who dropped the Vermont coppers. This is the key to the Vermont copper house!!
I found it in between where I found the 2 coins. I wish I could magically go back in time to when this house was still standing and open up the front door, go in and explore that late 18th century dwelling.
Maybe I could find a jar full of new Vermont coppers. The spoon in the picture is either silver or silver plated (more likely plated) and was found in a different area later in the morning.

I e-mailed my story about finding the 1786 Vermont to Whites and they said they plan to use it on their website and possibly in some of their literature. They sent me a gift certificate with which I was able to purchase these items. (the MD bag is for my brother. I already have one.) Thank you Whites!

The rest of the day was pretty uneventful. I dug alot more square nails. Several pieces of large iron, and a few other miscellaneous things. The coins in the picture are both modern. The quarter was lying on top of the ground. Maybe I lost it last time I was hunting here!

Not too much today overall but I wanted to post anyway because I might not get out again this year. Thanks for looking.
