Hehe i was thinking the same thing i am trying to do hopefully it should work

what els could i use to clean them up i have been using vinger but it seems to be eroding them slowly

Maybe electrolisis will clean it? A few threads on the board to see how to do this.

Good and bad news im afraid i got the key out but the lock is broken cleaning wasn't working so i had open it up it was all broken inside so i decided to smash it up with a hammer and get the key out
