Went back to my "Bad dream yard", and only spent a little over an hour there, because it just started to pour rain. I stuck it out for a while in the rain, but when the lightning started, it was time to put the shovel away and go home. The yard redeemed itself, by producing this nice "Good for 5 Cents" token, and the nice older "Cap Bomb" toy from the 1960's. If you are older than 50, you probably remember or even played with these. I know I did. The token has the name of J. Guarrine S. Wilmington, Illinois. Haven't found any info on him yet, but I haven't had a lot of time to research it yet. A couple of nice finds, after my 3 Wheats and 3 partial Cap Guns last week. Still gonna hit the place one more time, since I got cut short this morning. By the way, I took the trusty old Fisher CZ 5 today. The Equinox 800 needed a nap ! Sorry, no in situ photos today because of the rain. Didnt want my phone to get ruined.

I used to love those cap bombs until I would lose them. I’m surprised that I have never found one detecting. Congrats

That token is really cool. A little lemon juice and a fine brass brush might really clean it up.

I had one. I don't facebook or youtube, so...I almost always forget my cell and camera when I go out.

Tokens are always a good find!

Love tokens thats really cool I remember those cap rocket bombs cool find that dont make toys like they used to thats a fact Well done

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Sure liked those cap bombs. Jealous of the token. Live in S. Wilmington but have only found tokens from Braidwood. I'll see if I can stop by the local museum and see if they have any info for ya.

Can you show a pic of the token's other side?
Don......
I don't think you would be able to see the letters on it Don. I had to use my lighted Loupe to make them out. I took some pics of both sides but didn't post the other side, because it just looked more like a blank slug than anything. Thanks for your link to the Grundy Historical Society.

Couple nice finds. Cool token and you brought back old times with that cap bomb. As always, GL out there!

Good one! forgot all about the cap bomb! I used to love em.

99 %. It took a while to make out the I, but if you have other suggestions or research, of a name that's close, please let me know and I will take another look at it.
