Well I only know Chicago Ron and Mark and these guys are stand up. They love the hobby just as much as anyone else. The show was just that a show nothing more nothing less. The producers used an appraiser to place a value on objects found only to determine who won whatever I don't know. The viewer never saw any money change hands like the Savage mess. And yes it would be great if devoted time to our code of ethics. I also agree I would have liked it better if they had not used shovels. Maybe show how to remove an artifact from the ground properly with a hand tool. As far as to many people coming into the hobby, maybe just maybe our voice for non restriction (freedom) will grow louder and stronger. As far as calling someone a name well we all know wheat that's about. That's my two Indian cents, for what it's worth.
