Found this on the banks of a river in NC. Stood out to me due to the symmetrical shape. Definitely worn down by water. Material is very fine though - has a "ping" to it when you tap it with your nail - not sandstone - maybe rhyolite. Feel like there may be some flaking that is barely recognizable on the edges... Thoughts?

Found in water means geofact. Keep searching.

Sorry! I don't see any outstanding or visible man made working on your item, but keep looking and you just may find something good. Persistence does pay, so get back out there and find that humdinger of an artifact.

Like Old Digger said I don't see were man has done any chipping on it, I can see where it has been broken while rolling down the creek. If it rings when you tap it that means there is a nice piece of stone in it for sure:thumbsup:Nice find HH

Maybe chipped from hitting other stones, not chipped from man.
