I find lots just like that one. I've always wondered myself. Not sure.
 
It happened a very long time ago whatever it was.. Something ancient left that mark on the bone.
I imagine they made several good meals for carrion eaters after they died
 
It looks like the marks made by mollusks and snails on organic material
 
It does.
 
Definitely doesn't appear to be a bite mark
