Tooth?

Garebel1861 and I went down to the river Sunday where we found about 20 tokens and other odds and ends.
I found this "tooth" there as well. When I washed it off I noticed it had a hole drilled through it. Could this be part of an indian necklace? For those of you wondering, it is definitely not wood.

Are you sure it's not Shell? It could be a Shell Pendant.

it is bone rather than a tooth
