Top Hat and Siam Silver

Third day (for only another hour) at my gold spot. No gold today but got probably one of the coolest things I've ever dug! The monopoly top hat! And a Sterling silver earing. Disclaimer: It may look like costume jewelry due to low quality photos but I am only going off of the markings on the piece! Marked SIAM STERLING.

Cool! I found a Siam pin or something a while back. This one's not exactly like yours but looks close.

Great finds! SIAM Silver, is from Thailand, and tons of it was sent back to the States during the GI's on R&R to Mom's, Wives, and Sweethearts. There are I think twelve different gods and godesses depicted on the different pieces. I found one with the mermaid goddess

Just as an aside, Siam officially became Thailand in 1939, so any Siamese silver date at least prior to that time. I love Siamese niello silver.

The SIAM trademark was used well into the late 1970s - The Siam Sterling (Nielloware) Site
