Toy army man found in my back yard and might be an old one?

Nice clean up and nice find, sorry I don't know how old. Must be exciting finding him.

Looks like my dads toy army men.. late 40's .. to 50's .. is my best guess

Could be WW II era however my guess is that it's earlier. The helmet and uniform is more from the WW I era. The machine gun is a M1917 Browning first used in WW I but also used in WW II and Korea. My bottom line guess would be a toy from the 1920's or 30's.

Cool find! Cleaned up quite nicely.

Very nice find and in very nice condition. That's from when toys were made to last, not break so you have to buy another one in a few days. Lol

Thanks for sharing and HH,

Matt

Nice back yard find congrats!

Rock: I'd say 1920's-1940's. Look up "Manoil Company". I wonder if there is more where you found that one? Nice find!

The man is shooting a .30 caliber water cooled machine gun. If its hollow, I don't think that they make those anymore.

You can still purchase new molds to make this type of figure so you can't go off looks alone, but the patina indicates its old.

great find. love that it still has a lot of original paint. my guess is 20's-30's

Hi Rockhoppernc, You have a Barclay #702 "Machine Gunner-Kneeling-Cast Helmet" US doughboy soldier in VG shape, circa 1935-1950ish. Yours is in great shape and is a very nice find. I imagine there will be more soldiers in the area, so keep detecting. Happy Hunting, Sub 8-)

Great find Brian. :occasion14: I see the new machine is doing just fine for you. I love digging those old toys.
Congrats,
Doug

Thanks man, looks like I gots me somes history in my area. Also found a small brass and copper handle. looks like from a coffee grinder, but after looking at it I noticed it is a one way right turn handle. I'll post a pic soon. headed out to hunt a old farm plot...stand by.
