Trade Musket Side Plate Thing #2

[WawaDuane]

Found another trade musket dragon side plate thing today (2 this year)...and the usual harmonica reeds, spoons, shoe parts, barrel tap and possibly a butt plate from a rifle (top left rusted thing). I also found another Fitch, van Vechten & Co. casing, a blue trade bead and lots and lots of rain.

Old axe head and a giant nut that I have no idea what was used for...any ideas?

That side plate is killer. The barrel tap right up there too

Wow some very cool pieces

[ironhorse]

The side plate from the musket is a nice find!

You're lucky to find one intact, I've only discovered bits a pieces of some, but that's what you mostly get in ploughed fields

Good luck on future hunts and try and keep dry!

[dirtlooter]

love the cool relics, pure history

The oversized nut could be an axle nut.

Exactly what I thought...I will research that...thanks.

That side plate is awesome! Congrats. Will you try to straighten it?

Great sideplate! The keg spigot and the colonial axe are nice relics too.

[BuckleBoy]

Great stuff!

Here are some more finds from yesterdays hunt...a creepy doll face that my son is terrified of.

A beautiful blue bead.

More assorted junk, the typical lead, lantern parts...all the good stuff.

The "heart attack" flat button and a piece of a handle of a folding knife.
