Travis AFB Token

Found this NCO mess hall token from Travis AFB (California) down here in Lee County Georgia. I'm thinking it is from the 1950s since the Air Force didn't come around after WWII? Any thoughts on value or a different opinion on an age? It sure is a long way from home!

Travis was named in 1951-so there is a starting point; it's still going strong. I was selected for Air Force Cadet training under the new USAF.in 1950. We were the first to recieve the new blue uniforms, including the Ike jacket.

My uncle was a cook at Travis AFB in the 50`s

Cunningham's Military Tokens of the United States lists this as #CA1800c and shows a "catalog value" of $8.00. He also states that the facility became known as Travis AFB in 1950

You are correct.
Upon further research I learned that on Octoboer 20, 1950, Fairfield-Suisan AFB became Travis AFB. on October 20, 1950.
