Treasure Clue, can you help?

i noticed that on pg. 18 it states "Zac mightas well have thrown a tigerwood stick for him to fetch......." so i am thinking that Tiger Wood stick might be referring to a golf club. later on that pg. ' launched into the air' and 'knocked the wind out of him"
could this mean golf course or something??
or is tigerwood really a wood?
Any ideas????
Happy Huntin!!!!!

sorry-
i just checked on the tigerwood thing and it is a real wood......
but still????
on a golf course it could be stepped on or found when looking for a ball.........
does MS like golf????
why did it have to be tigerwood?????
just thoughts..............

Glad you are trusting me! OK, go back and look at my posts on page 11 (three of them), especially about the breakthrough. You have to look at the page with a magnifying glass after enlarging it and printing it out. Then think about some of the things MHS did in the companion book. Then... the print is in red, some of it smooth and bright, some of it probably still slightly speckled and darker. Leave these areas alone and darken the black areas, trying to cover the white between the black dots, too. Watch for letters to emerge, looking occasionally with the magnifier. If you got the meaning of my hint and followed that step, you should be able to read SYSTEMS across the top of the page. Continue to darken the black areas carefully. you'll get the hang of it and start to recognize the style of print. It was hard work but this was the only way I could do it. Maybe you can do it on a computer but I don't know how. Best of luck.

(PS. the faces on the page are in the states if you have the us map over it.)
(in my opinion)

Hello everyone....first time poster but long time watcher. Just wanted to try and help the hunt along, I would like to add my two cents. I admit that the pictures and the poem are important to the hunt but no more important that what MS has already told us in the book. You are really spending to much time on the pictures and not enough time on the other clues.....fairies pointing at certain squares within a 5x5 box. Also the song the knotholes sing on pg 86 is very important. I would tend to agree that the picture on pg 46 relates to spots on a US map but you need to change the way you look at it. Would you really plant one in Seattle and in Boston? No....not if you want to keep all spots 1 days drive from all part of continental USA. Adjust the way you think of this map and you will see some very interesting things. Also milkkanz can you get rid of your image on your messages...no one wants to have to weed through lots of unnecessary stuff especially if they are at work. Hope this helps a little....I will add more clues that I have come up with as new ones are revealed for me. Thanks and happy hunting........

Guess I did not articulate myself very well Pancho. It was pretty late last night when I was posting. I did not mean that everyone is 1 days drive to every token. My point is that if you were trying to cover the entire USA with only Twelve tokens you would not stick them all the way up in Seattle or all the way up in Boston because you have now reduced the radius of your circle by 1/2. The smarter thing to do is use some points of reference that are defined by the geographical make up of the United States. For example Brownsville Texas and Homestead, Florida are the southernmost points of the United States. That means that the 2 most southern tokens in the middle and southeastern part of the USA could be no further North than Dallas, TX and Savannah, GA to still be within 1 days drive of those most southern points of the USA. I am not saying that Dallas and Savannah are 2 of the points on the map, just that the points could be no further North than that. Hope this helps everyone.

My own opinion is that zip codes have absolutely nothing to do with the 5x5 box. I base this on clues I have already found and the fact that the fairies will tell us exactly where to go, eleminates the need for zip codes.
Happy hunting everyone.

Gman,
That is very very interesting about the southern most points. I never thought about that and I am down closer to the southern most point. haha. Thanks for that insite.

Kris

me too ashlynnsmommy (I am in Dallas) that'ss what made me start thinking about how far south Brownsville, TX is. Anything to help stimulate the brains.....

Woe are the tokens in the Northeast!

So anyone want to discuss how this big winter storm. May affect the hunt for the token(s) that abide there? ???

Hi, all. I am a "newbie", but I have printed out and read all the posts, so am hoping this isn't duplicate information. I googled "Save our Trees Art" and found an interesting website, goodworksonearth.org, that is about trees, Mother Earth, Elves, Lexicons, Anagrams, Forests, etc. There is also an interesting picture, "Celestial Scenes by John Flinn" that reminds me of the single trees on some of the pages. May be nothing, but....

I'm wondering if the answers would be "findable" by a child? This is considered a picture book and is in the children's section of Border's, so are the answers way more simple than we imagine? I guess the fact that you have to anagram would defy that logic.

I'm also wondering if the different types of trees mentioned might mean something? I googled Ginkgo and found some references to very specific locations of these trees that have been preserved, but should you need a computer to solve the clues?????

Would love some feedback. This is really eating in to my time--I should be cleaning house!

Re: Treasure Clue, can you help? Hey Ghost!

If anyone reads this will you please send the user "Ghost" a personal message saying that the system won't let me send him any more personal messages (apparently there is a limit of only 3) and that he can email me at dasharpe@wayne.edu Thank you!

Finally got my hands on the companion book!! My only big question is how the solutions to this hunt have anything to do with illusions. Many of the one's I've seen are fairly rudimentary optical illusions, but I do not see how they tie into the book. The cypher's are pretty darn interesting.

Pancho- as to the zip code theory this could be a possiblity, however the poem is "A code of numbers five to a side" Well, what "Side/Sides" Are there in a zip code? Im just curious if anyone knows, because truthfully i dont.

Gman- "My Picture" is called a sig, its made for forums to easily identify your last post, if you look in your profile you can have one to, its not somthing that treasurenet didnt want you to have or else it wouldnt be on here, just an easy way to find your last post and read on. And no it wont be coming off ;)

Also, on back of the front cover, the 2 page illustration, i am almost certain there are words written in the trees! There very hard to solve and if anyone can identify just 1 we would know to look on these pages for more clues. If you can find anything on these, please let me know!

Pancho,
WOOT WOOT!!!!!! Wish you all of the luck in the world. Have a safe and wonderful trip and hope you come back with a token. ;D Don't forget to let us all know either way!

Kris

Good luck Pancho! Hope it's the spider token for you.

In case anyone has been looking for more info or chat rooms on the hunt, I have found a couple that have some good information. They have already hashed through a lot of the information as this sight.

Pancho,
Have Fun!!!!! If you do find a token will you go after another one the same way that you found the first one? If not would you tell us how you found the token so we can apply the same tacktics to the rest of the book????????
If you have any clues that might help the rest of us losers find any of the other jewels that (I know I am speaking for everyone) mabey you would like to share those hints?
Thanks Alot and Good LUCK
~Treasuretrapper~Sarah

Sarah, no one here is a loser, and I am certainly not a winner by any means, even if I am on the right track here. ;D

As for when I get back from my trip, I can say this. I will share as much as I can, as long as it does not inhibit my ability to find another token or to allow someone else to go in behind me and find the token that I may miss. It's entirely possible I'll miss the mark slightly and, after revealing my methodolgy, have someone realize my mistake and reap the rewards. That make sense?

I will say this though, go back through EVERYTHING you've seen or think you know. I got on my current track by doing the very same thing. I may be wrong, but my discovery came from a thorough analysis nonetheless. Don't miss the forest for the trees. LOOK AT EVERYTHING!!

The tokens may not require digging or prying, but the clues in the book sure do! ;) Happy hunting, and I'll touch base with ya soon!

Well i do wish you the best of luck and i totally understand your position!
HH

Sarah

GOOD LUCK!!!!

Yah good luck pancho!!! If you find it mention all our names as your buddys on the new!!! J/K hahaa good luck though, happy hunting

If not posted here yet...this was taken from Twelve.org...posted by Lyricalash

Have you know treasures three
Found by nine where they be
Numbers eleven within the book
Ten of them near the overlook
There they stand five a side
Two more places where they hide
One by one now you know
Four in column four in row
Now you know there are thirteen
Tweleve of which are still unseen
With six pence eight you will see
It was the seven that is the key

----This is the sub-poem as i have deciphered. While i felt obligated to provide this to everyone, i will not explain how i did it.
