Have you listened to the podcast "Appalachian Intelligence?" They have done a couple of really good episodes about this treasure.

I have not. Thank you for letting me know. I definitely will now.

Found at an overlook, with a large creek at the bottom. Been searching this area for Swifts silver and located this carving. About half a mile along the cliffs edge, located the second image on a sand stone that was sitting like a tombstone. Had to push down several inches of dirt to expose the carvings. Any ideas?
Your first picture is upside down...to me it's a house symbol , which tells me of a hidden cave..the L ...could mean 50..or 90 degrees or East...the two lines below the L has two possible meanings.. A. Double the next symbol/number on the map (but only if a number or number symbol immediately follows this sign)...B. The symbol or number prior to this sign equals or is to be interchanged with the symbol following this sign...and could possibly mean both...if you look left of the lighter roof line you'll see a man looking at something...your shadow is blocking all the carving...step back and take another picture ,try not to cast a shadow on the carving...
