Treasure sniffing dog?

Minelabex1000, Free is refering to regular truffles-kind of like underground mushrooms. They are way more expensive than ginseng or even gold for that matter. A high dollar fungus prized by chefs around the world.

Well, I do have a little intelligence, it's just that sometimes I forget to push the engage button before pushing the enter button. LOL

Hey, I may have some of that stuff growing on my glasses! oops! sorry bout that :P

You know, it would probably be more economical to try growing tomatoes instead. That way you can have a BLT w/your Cream of Truffle soup ;)

So it's all your fault. Too much water-should have benen growing sun-dried tomatoes instead. :P

I remember spending $4o dollars on a bag of truffles once. But they didn't taste like truffles and they made my head feel funny. Why is the wallpaper moving?!? :D :D

Those weren't truffles, those were 'shrooms! Should have bought 'em back 30 yrs ago-think you paid too much ;D

Ya know, since this posting is all about sniffing dogs (I mean dog's that sniff), I wonder if one could train them to hunt all kinds of treasure? I mean treasure comes in all kinds of forms.

Just think of it, train a dog to seek out and retrieve almost anything! This can really get ya ta thinkin can't it? ???

When I was a kid we had a German Short Hair that would roam the neighborhood at night and bring stuff back and lay it on the porch. One morning I found a long stem crystal glass and it was in perfect shape. That dog must have carried that thing a long way and never even chipped it! We never did find out where it came from.

Maybe you can train one to find and dig mason jars. Could cut you search time down.

Heard that, now if only I can train one to find my lost youth. LOL? BTW, I've got a cat trained to jump on my lap everytime Free makes a post. Ever see a yo-yo cat? ;D And no, I' not trying to be crude.

Hey, I deleted my message just the time you were adding yours. Thought maybe my posting was a bit crude. Maybe not.

Anyway, I agree--I think "dog detectors" have tremendous potential.

To All Concerned:
Hey! Out There!
? ?Let's not get carried away!? ::)
No one has stumbled across The Holy Grail ? :P? or The Gold Fleece !? ?:-[
As with a Good MD!
Dogs have limitations!
I spend/live MONTHS at a time, In The Field with a DOG, as a constant companion!
Yes!? ?:)? ?24/7, 180-270 days? ?:-*
I respect their abilities,? ?:)
BUT!
In no way are they In Failable!
I Have Never Heard of,
NOR!
Have I ever Seen a blind test... :o
Dog vs MD!
? ???? Have anyone of you ?? ????
It's a TOOL!? ?::)
That may or may not work!? ?:P
Also!
It requires months and months of constant hard work & TONS! & TONS! of extreme patience/dedication,? ?to train a dog!

You just don't Plop down a couple of hundred Bucks,
AND!
Walk away with a Good Sniffing Dog!

Yes, I know that dogs aren't infallible. Ever see what a dog sniffs and then rolls around in? LOL And yes, I know they're just trying to use their version of Right Guard. Dogs arre just like people in the aspect that each has their own personality .

I was walking a friends dog once. The dog's ears perked up, it pulled hard on the leash and lead me to what it's sharp senses had detected. But alast it was a false alarm, merely a pine cone. Free

Oh no no no...not "merely a pine cone," it twas a reminder of ____ shopping days till Christmas :P

let me know if it works i live near a golf course and I get 50 cents apiece for PRO V's. surely a golf ball would put off more odor thana $bill

After the dog is trained to dig the treasure, maybe you could train the cat to cover up the holes. ;D
