Can anyone identify this token for us?
It is the diameter of a quarter and possibly made from copper or brass.
No wording or numbering were found on it only a tree with a land bass in the center of the front of the coin with dots surrounding the edge.
Thank you

At first it reminded me of the Massachusetts “pine tree” shilling which dates to around 1660. It's not that coin -- but the theme would compel me to explore that region.

Might have something to do with what kind of tree it is - i.e. this is listed as
"Coffee token with coffee tree design - Guatimoc, Mexico 1911"

Though when I first saw your token I thought it looked like a Magnolia Tree.

Then I started thinking maybe it is the "Liberty Tree"

CW, I was thinking the same thing. Either the back is covered with some type of material or it is a scan of a scan. Whenever a photo is taken from a printed picture, it will cross-hatch. Is the pic of the back of the coin an actual photograph or is it a photo of a picture?

I think it is a Tree of Knowledge pendant.

Ooh Breezie I like the Tree of Knowledge idea. Looking for other examples also led me to find the Tree of Life -

I like the tree of knowledge idea also. This was possibly a medallion that was glued to a book, then removed and punched with a hole to be worn on a chain.

BRILLIANT!! That would explain the cross-hatching/indentations.

No it appears to be made of metal not material

Were there very many different types of Tree of Knowledge pendants made? I haven't been able to find a picture of one quite like this.
