Hey guys
took a break from the action as it's been very busy at work and silver started to dry up in my area, so i gave it a couple of months for some good boxes to circulate back here.
was supposed to pick up 4 boxes today but only got 1 ("the order didn't come in") so i picked up 2 boxes of dimes instead, and a box of pennies. on my way home i picked up $11 in halves from another bank (1 roll + 2 loose).
i started working the pennies first, and oh my god! 11 wheaties in the first roll i opened!i think that was about my wheats per BOX average lately, in just one roll! as i kept opening the rolls, more and more wheats showed up, 6 in a roll, 7, 8.. the best roll had 14 wheats!! i couldn't believe my eyes as i kept pulling them out! about half way through, i got an indian penny, no date. and anther indian 1906 was at the second-to-last roll.
total take was 226 wheats, including 1909 (no S, no V.D.B
), 1911, 1914 (no D, DAMN IT), 1917, 1919 x2, 1920 x2, 1921 x6 and the rest were common dates in the 40's and 50's mostly. and the 2 indian heads.
now to the halves:
i got my first solid roll of silver halves!
too bad it was 40% and not 90% but i'm still very happy! that's the 1 roll i picked up on my way home! 
it looked kinda old and had that extra round piece of cardboard on the ends so i couldn't see if it had any good ender, but man - it was an original bank roll (i think) of all 1968-D BU halves! i could NOT believe it! i see people posting here solid silver roll finds and i drool, never saw it coming my way..
opening the box of halves, i saw a franklin looking at me (actually the bell lol) and had another 40% ender so i thought it must be my lucky day and i'll hit the jackpot with a dream box.
was not a dream box, but not a bad box at all.. recovered from the box 1 1943-S Walking liberty, 2 Franklins (51-d, 54), 1 1964 kennedy and 22 40%ers! i'll take a box like that every day!
best roll in the box had the franklin ender, a walking liberty, and 2 40%ers :
that was hell of a day, i was very pleased with my results. but that wasn't the end to this day's hunt lol. i got a call from one of the girls at work (i'm a shift manager in a small restaurant), saying a costumer came in and "paid for his order with all silver dollars. 24 of them" . they know i hunt and collect so they keep all the "weird" stuff on the side for me; wheat pennies, old $1 bills etc.. so since i live about 5 minutes from work, i decided to go check it right away rather than having them put it aside for me till after the weekend. "24 silver dollars", i was literally running to work lol.
the "silver dollars" turned out to be 20 clad ikes, and 4 40% silver ikes, one of which was a cameo proof! not bad! a perfect ending to a good day. i gave one to the waitress who called me, and explained to her how much it was worth, but she didn't want it
so i gave her $10 and told her to always call me if she sees something interesting in the register when i'm not there.
total take for today:
2 indian head pennies
226 wheat pennies
4 90% halves
42 40% halves
4 silver ikes
a very good day for me after almost 2 months with zero activity. im back in the game!!
