US paper currency will bear President Trump's signature starting this summer, the first time a sitting president has signed American money, the Treasury Department said.

US bills have two signatures. Secy of the treasury and treasurer of the US. It seems the treasurer of the US is always a woman with a Hispanic name.🤷🏼 Check some bills and see if I’m not correct.

After taxes, insurance, groceries, utilities, gasoline, pharmacy, and doctor bills, I never get to keep any money long enough to notice any signatures anyway, so it makes no difference to me.

Interesting, now that you mentioned it, here's some trivia, from the beginning of our government US Treasurers were all men...until June 1949 when Georgia Neese Clark of Kansas was appointed US Treasurer, since then all have been women...until last year 2025 when Trump appointed Brandon Beach of Georgia as US Treasurer.

That all being said the US Treasurer works under the US Secretary of the Treasury...i.e. "the boss", I always thought it was the US Treasurer that was the boss and had a secretary, the US Secretary of the Treasury is nominated by the President and has to have a majority senate vote to become final, the US Secretary of the Treasury is part of the President's Cabinet and fifth in the Presidential line of succession.

All United States Secretary of the Treasury have been men with the one exception of Janet L. Yellen of California under Biden from 2021 to 2025.

Does his signature on the notes make him liable for the debt they represent?

I hope this comes to pass and it's not a bunch of fake news because I would LOVE to see all the pearl clutching, flaming haired Karens burning their money on the sidewalks in protest. Lets get those printing presses humming.

Nothing a sharpie can’t cover. I just stocked up!

Might be worth saving, if trump doesn't remain in office long (health, not impeachment). ANy time an issue is short lived, it becomes somewhat of a collectible. Heck, look at the people stacking THOUSANDS of pennies right now, and those were not even in short supply. yeah, if I get some, in good condition, I think I'll stow them away.
