hooked up once again Tuesday morning with Whydah for low tide
we were still getting sinkers - lures and older coins - hopes were high for more gold
only in the water a short while - Whydah gives me ring sign
I drifted over to him as he looked it over - all of a sudden frown comes across his face
turned out to be a huge tungsten steel ring - a recent drop
it was almost low tide and I headed to a hole where I had gotten a 1930 class ring before
even at low tide - this hole is like 7 feet deep
I told Whydah "I know with everything else we been finding - that others cant get into that hole without mask & snorkel or tanks
so theres got to be some gold in there " I went in
little while later I got a sweet signal and had a feeling it could be gold - i knew it was not going to be a sinker
ended up being 10k ring with pink stone - streak was still alive !
we went to an area that was loaded with swimmers and hoped for fresh drops
but alas we did better where there were less people - we truned around and headed back where we came in
the tide had been coming in for a couple hrs - so we ended up working closer to shore
so iwas hitting area I dont usually hit - I ended hitting a spot where i got some thin coins amongst some rocks
(they ended up being a silver quarter- 2 sil.Roos. & a Merc.
it was just a small area - got a few sinkers too all good signs
I ran my macine under a huge seaweed bush and got a good signal - it had attatched itself to a large rock
i pushed the rock aside and ran my coil over spot and got a real good signal
I scooped into some small rocks and was surprised as sand ran out and I saw gold wedding band sitting on small rocks in my scoop
yahoo - another 2 gold ring day
I also got silver tri-ring and silver stud earing
worked my way back to vehicle - boy was i beat - but it was worth it
had another fun time with Whydah - not only cause of the gold either

You guys are on a Roll! Hope you keep finding, WOW!! Impressive!!

Another great day! Congrats on the rings! Where can I get a "silverman" of my own?

Your finds are always nice. Congratulation!!

Congratulations on the hunt, you've been doing really well on the gold lately!

Do you take the silver man with/on you when you hunt ?
I think I will try it with one of my favorite finds from last season.
I have yet to hit gold yet this year. A little rain would brighten my spirits.

SUPPOSEDLY you make a place in your home for him - which I did - and you make offerings to him
I have a spot that he is in and have some rings hanging on him - a little nip bottle of tequila (which I put with him before I found the 7 this weekend)
and some snack peanuts - some may think Im nutty but have found 3 - 3 - 3 - 2- 2 for gold in 5 hunts since finding him
(last time I had a streak like that or better was about 5-6 years ago)

I did not mention that I had found 2 gold the week before in the same area (1 about 5 feet - the other about 10 feet away)- before the hunt I found him - that is the reason I went back to that spot and ended up finding him

Nice run that is for sure. I gave my Ekeko a nice place in my sunroom next to the fireplace, he was in the basement for a few years. Shared a beer with him last week and maybe I need to offer some snacks. I only had one chance to get out since then and just found some clad and heavy gold colored bracelet/watchband. Doubt it is gold but have to test. Going to be away from the beach the next 2 weeks, but I'll plan on taking him back with me to see if that improves my luck.

To quote Jeff Beck/Rod Stewart "I ain't superstitious, but a black cat just crossed my path."

Casper I saw on another thread where you sent some links on some water hunting tips you created, if you don't mind I would like to check that out also. Always trying improve my techniques.

Pete
