TWO "what's it's" I could use help with.

I found these two pieces at a plantation house today.
Can anyone ID the "US" piece and/or the larger ornate piece?
Is the US piece CW?

Not sure. Did buttons come that big? There is no attachment on the back side. It's almost like a cover piece.

"US" piece looks to be off a bridal or saddle, and i would guess it is Civil War era.
The other piece, no idea, but my first tought was maybe off a chandelier?

Could the ornate dohicky be from a piece of furniture. The bezel that may have surrounded the pull maybe?

Are there tree hooks on the back of the US piece? If so, it's from a ww1 harness. We used to find them on the farm I grew up on.
