U.S. pin, old padlock, UPDATE

[clump63]

Hunted a couple old spots today that I've hunted alot in the past. In an old park I found this old U.S. pin. The two posts on the back have rusted away but can still see where they were at one time. Was thinking military uniform on the collar maybe, any idea's? The old padlock part was from yesterday as well as the 1949 dog tag. The Fort Dodge 1951 rabbie tag was found on one of my properties today along with the two arcade tokens and the old marble. Also in the park was this large brass tag that says UP DATE. The UP DATE turned out to be UP TO DATE and is shown below.

Re: U.S. pin, old padlock

Good finds. I can tell you about the U.S. pin. Your "U.S. Pin" is a collar pin for an U.S. Air Force Officer's "service dress" uniform. It has been used from the time of the Air Forces' inception to the present. I have a picture of it in use on the uniform.

Re: U.S. pin, old padlock

The tag I mentioned didn't make it to the photo I posted. Did some cleaning on it and it reads: UP TO DATE, made in germany, pat. applied for, 20 REEDS, C and an engraved signature looks like M. Hohner. Could be from a harmonica.
