Beautiful collection of axes and adzes
I am in awe! Thank for the view.

Does anybody have any thoughts on the light red axe.... The largest one there its at least 5 pounds .... It almost feels and looks like a chalky softer rock I will post a few more pics of itImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1429707713.742394.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1429707730.656673.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1429707744.075199.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1429707758.192373.webp

Looks like slightly inferior material

I swore it was a brick...

Yea brick or a walkway stone is the first thing i thought when i saw it...seems way to soft to have been an affective tool. But the fact it's still here today contradicts that

...except that it is broke, just like you would expect it to be...

Mac....it wasn't broke until she dropped it getting into her truck ..... As you can imagine her hands were full.... She's very upset about it

that is TRAGIC!

Nice finds and story. Id go back if it has just rained and after every rain. Im still finding worked flint in a field I have been walking for a year now. Each time it rains something new pops out.

WE NEED MORE STORY! and more pictures of each piece. this is a great thread.

Almost all of the pieces were found in an area about the size of an acre ... Must have been a small campsite there. Outside the area not much has been found ... Inside there is grinding stones and tools everywhere also only 3or 4 points have been found. I thought there would be more small stuff but maybe it's under the surface still. I will post more pics tomorrow and get close ups of them

is it a farm, a knoll, a stream running by....how about trees?...any trees?

It is a large farm there is a small stream near by however it is about a mile from a larger river that feeds all the way out to the Chesapeake bay, I looked In the stream already and didn't find anything I'm hoping for some more rain and take another look around before they plant the field.

Try not to have your eyes trained to see only big shapes and slow down a little I'm sure there's flint there

Wow! What a great field, and in Maryland, wow. Is that a broken banner in the pile as well? I look forward to seeing what else you folks pull out of there. Thanks for the show.

Oh no that's so sad! Let me know if you need help, I've got a 4x4, shovels and a strong back. Super finds!

Viking: yes there is a broken banner in there I will try to post some close ups later today of that and some others
