Unbelievable!! I found a 1902 V nickel next to some old iron.

It rained all day yesterday which means this old Louisiana dirt was nothing but wet clay which will suck you up like quicksand, so I spotted a small higher spot that they must of used the same dirt as filler because I could see little pieces of pottery. To my surprise I found a V-nickel 6 inches away from a piece of a old iron. Glad to have it.

the old toasted Iron represented an age of hard hot work to iron clothes and is a very cool find no matter what anyone thinks. The nickle? I think it looks better than my one an only, at least you could tell for sure that it was a V nickle

Thank you hearing that put me back into prospective on V-nickels I’ve found 26 in 4 years and 23 where from one park. ( Always one never 2 in one trip )

See I’m still doing it. Lol

Thanks ddf I will swing everyday even if I just have to pull over somewhere for 30 mins. I’ve had a addictive personality all my life. This is my best habit I’ve ever had. It was hard growing up in New Orleans with a addictive personality. Booze, gambling, Southern gals....now 14years sober, happily happily married and swinging my ass off. Lol

8 years here...gets better every day. When the wife sees me getting itchy, she sends me out the door, ATP in hand. We both know what kind of peace and serenity detecting brings to me. Congrats on your sobriety, that is truly awesome. Soon after I got clean, my oldest, at 15, picked up where I left off so we got to live through the madness that comes with it. He now has 1 good year under his belt...Thx all to here for the support and comraderie, Tnet is my second family. Ddf

UPDATE:::: After clean up could this be my dad iron. No marking and I did hammer a little hole it it. 6” long, 3.75” wide, 1” height. Any help would be appreciated I’m all curious about age. He doesn’t give much info. Thank you

Well done in getting the V beside the iron, it shows your on your game.
Having travelled the roads of addiction and now looking at the milage signs 33/31yrs of sobriety I can truly relate in the fact this addiction can keep the mind grounded.
