I hit a new thrift store on my route and they had two very small jewelry jars for $5.99 each. I could see in one a vintage ladies watch and the other had a sterling bracelet or necklace so I bought them. I ended up pulling a two 14 karat gold chains including one weighing a bigly 38.4 g. The watch I had seen turned out to be gold filled but at the bottom of the jar was a 14 KT gold ladies Bulova. I also pulled a 6.7g sterling silver bracelet and a 25th wedding anniversary charm . I ended up with a total of 48 g of 14 karat gold and 8.7 g of sterling silver. The acid test confirmed they are legit! UNBELIEVABLE! LOVE THAT START TO '17!! Jewelry jars for the win. Have to go through 20 nasty ones and then that one jar makes up for all of them.

I've spent some time rolling around and shaking jewelry jars. Never saw one that good yet.

Update-Traded in the big gold chain from this jewelry haul and the silver covered dish I found this weekend for this beautiful 1954 recently serviced Rolex. Total out of pocket for me was $10 plus the $240 payment to hold it. The pawn shop was asleep for selling it for $1200. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1487972479.440469.jpg
