Found this one day while walking the edge of a small spring fed creek in Missouri. Points being flaked out of both bottom cornors.

During WW2 the Germans developed a rifle that shot around corners , maybe that's where the Germany's got that idea !!
You know on this one I can see it hafted from side to side and used as some type of scraper or flesher.Found this one day while walking the edge of a small city spring fed creek in Missouri. Points being flaked out of both bottom cornors.

My opinion, that’s rarer and much cooler (I’ve never seen, much less found one) than a standard point.Found this one day while walking the edge of a small city spring fed creek in Missouri. Points being flaked out of both bottom cornors.

I think the use of Ulu knives in Alaska went well into the historic period to the point they began using steel blades and are used today. They make sense so surely many cultures used them. Form follows function.I thought Ulu was primarily a far northern style artifact, Alaska region?
I know it came from central Missouri as I found it along a creek between Columbia and Bonneville Mo. The premise makes sense the way it is flake on the long side.
It's for those arrows that need to bend around corners like in that movie Wanted (2008)Those points were for making "U" turns if they miss their intended target so you won't have to walk so far to retrieve the arrow ! Well you never know when it'll be handy thing to have !!!!During WW2 the Germans developed a rifle that shot around corners , maybe that's where the Germany's got that idea !!
